The Canadian half siblings of our ancestor Jean Baptist Saucier and his older older brother Charles Saucier and their descendants:
As has been noted at the beginning of this family tree, Marguerite Gaillard, the matriarch of the Saucier family in North America, who married Louis Saucier in Quebec was married twice before her marriage to our paternal ancestor Louis Saucier and remarried a fourth time after Louis’ death. There were no children born during her first marriage to Hercule Duperron which took place in France before she came to Quebec as a Fille Du Roi. Hercule Duperon was born in 1635 in France and died in France on July 26, 1663 at age twenty-eight leaving Marguerite a widow.
On July 26, 1664, twenty-seven year old Marguerite married twenty-six year old Francois Provost shortly after coming to Quebec, Canada as a Fills Du Roe. He was born on August 27, 1637 in Dijon, France and died in Quebec, Canada on January 1, 1691 at age fifty-three, leaving Marguerite a widow for the second time. He was the son of Marin Provost and Catherine Corniere of Tourouvre, France. Two children were born in her second marriage to Francois Provost, Anne Claude and Francois Michel Provost.
On 12 Jan 1671, at age thirty-four, twice widowed Marguerite married her third husband, our family patriarch, Louis Saucier, age thirty-six at Notre Dame Cathedral de Quebec in Quebec. Two children were born in her marriage to Louis Charles Saucier, Charles and Jean Baptiste Saucier.
In November of 1677 at Notre Dame Cathedral de Quebec, Marguerite, widowed for a third time, and now age forty, married her fourth husband, forty-one-year-old widower Michel Nicolas LeGardeur. He was born in 1636 in Dijon, France and died in Quebec on January 1, 1691, at age fifty-five, leaving Marguerite once again a widow. Michel was the son of Nicolas LeGardeur and Etiennette Simoneau of Dijon, France. Michel was a widower with two young children when he married Marguerite in 1677. Two children, Michel and Marie Marguerite were born in Canada during her marriage to Michel Nicolas LeGardeur. Marguerite died in Canada on April 1, 1805, at age sixty-eight and is buried in Quebec, Canada. Marguerite Gaillard had a total of six known children from her four marriages. These half siblings and their descendants remained in Canada.
Anne Claude Provost was the first child born to Marguerite Gaillard and her second husband Francois Provost. She was born in Quebec on October 11, 1665, and died in Quebec on October 12, 1690, at the age of twenty-five. Anne was the granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Gillard and Catherine DeLomelle of Calais, France. She was the great granddaughter of Francois Gaillard and Francoise Planchat of Calais, France. At the age of thirteen years, Anne married thirty-one-year-old Etienne Chevalier at Sillery, Quebec, Canada on October 28, 1678. He was born in 1647 at St Laurent Des Mortiers, France and died in Quebec on March 19, 1697, at age fifty. Etienne was the son of Rene Chevalier and Isabelle Pescheny of St Laurent Des Mortiers, France. Anne and Etienne had five children, Mary Anne, Etienne, Genevieve, Francoise Catherine, and Francoise Catherine Chevalier.
Francois Michel Provost was the second child and son born to Marguerite Gaillard and her second husband Francois Provost. He was born on January 6, 1669, in Quebec and died there on June 4, 1711, at age forty-two. He was the grandson of Jean Baptiste Gillard and Catherine DeLomelle of Calais, France. He was the great grandson of Francois Gaillard and Francoise Planchat of Calais, France. Francois married Marie Catherine Bonhomme on October 23, 1795, at Quebec. Marie was born on June 12, 1677, in St Michel, Quebec, Canada and died on February 21, 1745, in Repentigny, Quebec, Canada. Marie was the daughter of Ignace Bonhomme and Agnes Morin of Quebec, Canada. Francois and Marie had twelve children, Francois, Joseph, Marie Anne, Marie Madeline, Jean Baptiste, Rene, Noel, Charles, Marie Marguerite, Anonyme, Pierre, and Joseph Augustin Provost.
Michel LeGardeur was the first child and son born to Marguerite Gaillard and her fourth husband Michel Nicolas LeGardeur. Michel was born on January 11, 1681, in Quebec, Canada and died there on November 16, 1763, at the age of sixty-two. He was the grandson of Jean Baptiste Gillard and Catherine DeLomelle of Calais, France. He was the great grandson of Francois Gaillard and Francoise Planchat of Calais, France. Michel, age twenty-four, married eighteen-year-old Catherine Delpe, on Jan 19, 1705, at Varennes, Quebec, Canada. Catherine was born on November 3, 1686, in Quebec and died on July 18, 1777, at Quebec. She was the daughter of Jean Delpe and Marguerite Delmas of Quebec. No additional information is known for Michel and no descendants have been found.

Marie Marguerite was born on July 18, 1682, in Quebec, Canada. She died in Quebec on March 21, 1715, at age thirty-two. Marie was the granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Gillard and Catherine DeLomelle of Calais, France. She was the great granddaughter of Francois Gaillard and Francoise Planchat of Calais, France. Eighteen-year-old Marie married Charles Fontaine, age thirty-two, on April 27, 1701, in Quebec, Canada, after her mother, Marguerite, signed the legal documents for her to marry Charles. Charles was a widower; his first wife had died the previous year. Charles was the son of Louis Fontaine and Marie Magdeleine Brassard of Quebec, Canada. Charles was born on February 27, 1669, in Quebec and died on December 19, 1702, in Quebec at age thirty-three. Marie and Charles had one son before his death, Jean Francois Fontaine. The following year, Marie, now twenty-one years old, married Jean Baptiste Champagne, age forty-one, on October 29, 1703, in Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Charles Champagne and Catherine Desombres of Quebec. Marie and Jean Baptiste had seven children, Marguerite, Catherine Francoise, Jean Baptiste, Pierre Jean, Jean Marie, Guillaume, and Marie Charlotte Champagne. After the death of Marie, Jean Baptiste remarried and had three additional children.
Today, numerous descendants of Marguerite Gaillard, from her three marriages, reside in Canada as well as in the United States.
