The Saucier Family Genealogy, 1604 to the present
From France, to Canada, to the Louisiana Colony, and the United States.....
The Saucier family is one of the oldest families of French heritage on the Gulf Coast, arriving with d'Iberville in the year 1699. The Saucier family has resided on the Gulf Coast for over 315 years.
Our paternal ancestor, Jean Baptiste Saucier, a pioneer of the new world, was instrumental in the establishment of the new Louisiana Colony in the early 1700's. The early Saucier family lived under numerous flags that included the French, British, Spanish, West Florida Republic and lastly the flag of the United States of America.
It's so amazing when you stop and realize that our family was here for well over 70 years before the Revolutionary War was fought and our country's independence from Great Britain was won, and before the Declaration of Independence was drafted and signed in 1776 by this country's founding fathers.
We have a rich and fantastic heritage, one that is worth remembering and sharing.
