Mary Jane was the granddaughter Pierre "Pier" Saucier and Mary Jane Smith, great granddaughter of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise; second great granddaughter of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, third great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fourth great granddaughter of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the fifth great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. On April 21, 1910, seventeen-year-old Mary Jane married twenty-three-year-old Peter Lamar Bennett in Harrison County, Mississippi, the son of George Washington Bennett and Delphine Felicite Stiglets of Biloxi. Peter was born in Biloxi on April 14, 1887, and died on August 13, 1956, at the age of sixty-nine in Harrison County. Mary Jane and Peter had Althea, Peter Lamar, Jr., Norvel Victoria, Clifton Harold, Irene Katherine, George Alvin, and Mary Lou Bennett.
Talmage Dewitt Saucier was the sixth son of John Alvin Saucier and Sarah Elizabeth Dobson born March 31, 1896, died 14 Sept 1969. Talmage was a grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and Mary Jane Smith, a great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise; a second great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, third great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fourth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the fifth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. On June 23, 1919 at age twenty-three Talmage married eighteen-year-old Lillie Christine Wilson. She was born on February 1, 1901, in Hines County and died on July 29, 2001, in Gulfport, Mississippi at the age one hundred years. Lillie was the daughter of Guy Wilson and Maggie Lee. Talmage and Lillie had one known daughter, Mary Saucier.
Louis J. Saucier was the seventh son of John Alvin Saucier and Sarah Elizabeth Dobson. Louis was born on August 5, 1898 in Lyman, Mississippi and he died on December 18, 1984 in Pensacola, Florida at the age of eighty-six and was buried in Norfolk, Virginia. Louis was a grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and Mary Jane Smith, a great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise; a second great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, third great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fourth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the fifth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. In about 1924 Louis married Lottie. I. Moss who was born on January 19, 1906 in Alabama and died on January 3, 1984 in Pensacola, Florida at age seventy-seven. Lottie was the daughter of Robert Lee Moss and Annie Jane Harrison of Washington County, Alabama. Louis and Lottie had five children, Robert Louis, Carolyn Machell, John Alvin, Gilbert Raymond, and Clyde Douglas Saucier.

On March 20, 1879, at age twenty-seven he married twenty year old Margaret Ann Fillingame. She was born in 1859 and died in 1941 and was the daughter of Austin Fillingame and Mary Jane Anderson of Marion County, Mississippi. Edwin and Margaret Ann had four children with only three surviving, John Randolph, Louisa and Lorena Saucier.
William Saucier was the seventh child and fifth son born to Pierre "Pier" Saucier and Mary Jane Smith was born on May 17, 1856 in Harrison County, Mississippi. William was the grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise; first great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, second great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, third great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary. No additional information is known on William. William was the last child born to Mary Jane, who died less than two years after his birth. It is believed that William died sometime in July of 1916 at about age sixty.

He was born on March 18, 1867 and baptized on March 9, 1873 at the Church of the Annunciation in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Charles died in 1927 at the age of sixty. Louis Cornelius was the grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise; first great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, second great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, third great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary. In 1892 at age twenty-two he married twenty year old Omelia Malley who was born on December 4, 1872 and died on March 29, 1942 in Poplarville at age seventy. She was the daughter of John Lucien Malley and Marie Baptiste Cuevas. Louis and Omelia had twelve children, Oveal, Randolph, Alonzo, Laura, Alsead, James Alves, Beulah, Alma, Carmelia, Bertha, Verdie Mary, and Vinnie Saucier.

In about 1896, around age twenty-four, he married eighteen year old Armen Farve who was born in July of 1878. No additional information is known on Armen. Pierre and Armen had one son, Jeverly Edward Saucier. At age thirty-seven he married twenty year old Francis Florence Ladner on June 25, 1910 in Pearl River County. She was born on January 1, 1890 and died in 1961 at New Orleans, age seventy-one. She was the daughter of Delmas Ladner and Anna Lillis Shaw. Pierre and Florence had six children together, Luther (Luke) Vardaman, Beatrice, Ralph, Dewitt Talmadge, Fred, and Archie Saucier.
Jeverly Edward Saucier was born on February 17, 1897in Hancock County, Mississippi and died in April of 1985 at Perkinston, Mississippi at the age of eighty-eight. He was the child of Pierre Saucier and Armen Farve, grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins and great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Jeverly was a first great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, second great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, third great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary. He married Mary Ethel Gardner who was born on July 15, 1906, and died on November 10, 1990, at Perkinston, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Joseph Ennis Gardner and Prudie Ann Mitchell. Jeverly Edward and Prudie Ann had three children, James Edward, Claris Janette, and Mary Irene Saucer.
Luther "Luke" Vardaman Saucier was born on May 7, 1911 in Hancock County, and died on August 7, 1990 in Pearl River, Louisiana at age seventy-nine. He was the first born child of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins and great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Luke was a first great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, second great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, third great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary. Luke, age twenty, married Gertrude Mavor Foley, age twenty, on April 23, 1932 in Harrison County, Mississippi. Gertrude was born on September 5, 1911 New Orleans, Louisiana and died on October 25, 1981 in Jackson at age seventy. She was the daughter of Albert Sidney Foley and Gertrude Emily Mavor. Luther and Gertrude had six children, Gertrude, Luke, Jr., Marie Florence, Albert Pierre, Marie Alberta, and John Gaston Saucier during their marriage. After the death of Gertrude, Luther remarried sometime after 1943. His second wife was Francis Virginia Tidwell, age twenty-two, and who was born December 2, 1919 in Georgia and died on May 13, 1989 in Pearl River, Louisiana at the age of sixty-nine. Francis was the daughter of Homer Tidwell and Josie Hudson. Luther "Luke" and Francis had three additional children during their marriage, Nelson Talmadge, Douglas Gaston, and Francis Joseph Saucier.
Gertrude Mavor Saucier, the first child and daughter of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley was born on March 2, 1933 in New Orleans. She died on April 25, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri at age thirty-nine years. Gertrude was the granddaughter of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great granddaughter of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, 2nd great granddaughter of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. She was a 3rd great granddaughter of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, 4th great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, 5th great granddaughter of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the 6th great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. On January 25, 1953, age nineteen years, Gertrude married twenty-one year old Herbert Paul Schall at New Orleans. Herbert was born on August 15, 1931 in New York City, the son of German immigrants, Joseph and Hedwig Schall. He died on January 6, 2020 in Holden, Missouri at age eighty-eight and is buried in Kansas City, Missouri along side Gertrude and his second wife Esther Gordon, whom he married in 1973. Gertrude and Herbert had four children, David G., Stephen D., Marie Louise and Sarah Elaine Schall during their marriage.
Luther “Luke” Vardaman Saucier, Jr., called Luke, was the second born child and first born son of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley. He was born on October 4, 1934 in Louisiana and died on October 2, 2008 in Florida at age seventy-nine. Luke was the grandson of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, second great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Luke was a third great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. In the 1950’s Luke worked for the Reptile Jungle near Pearl River, Louisiana where he wrestled alligators and worked with snakes at the road side attraction for a number of years. His profession was to get the attention of several Hollywood movie companies. His big breakthrough in the movie industry was as an alligator wrestler and then as the official reptile handler for MGM, Paramount and Warner Brothers Studios. He made headlines in 1956 when he was bitten by a rattler during a show in California. Eventually he landed bit parts in the movies and television, including a bit part in 1964’s “My Fair Lady” at Warner’s. He appeared in a number of TV shows including the westerns "Gun Smoke" with James Arness, “Yancy Derringer” with Jock Mahoney, “The Rifleman”, and “Branded” both with Chuck Connors and worked as Chuck Connor’s double on the TV series and in the movie “Swamp Women” and others. Luke also worked on the TV series “Dukes of Hazard”. In 1955, Luke then 21 years old married the first of his five wives, Mary Jane Wilson in New Orleans and they divorced soon afterward. Following his divorce he married his second wife Joyce Jiles, she was born on December 26, 1939 in San Diego, California. They married in New Orleans on December 21, 1956 when she was sixteen years old and Luke was twenty-two, they divorced the following year. Luke’s third wife was stage actress Elizabeth “Betty” Lee Mitchell of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi whom he married in about 1958. Luke would have been about twenty-four and Betty thirty-one years old when they married. She was the daughter of Robert Mitchell and Anna Palanque, residents of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Betty was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi on December 18, 1927 and died on March 11, 2003 in Wilmington, North Carolina at age seventy-five. Luke and Betty were divorced in 1974. They had three sons, Luke V. Saucier, III, Eric Saucier and Matthew Jason Saucier who followed in his father’s footsteps and became an actor who appears in film and television as Jason Saucier. Shortly after his divorce in 1974, at age forty Luke married Nancy Jane Hare, she was born on March 9, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, and she died on September 8, 1998 in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica. She was his fourth wife, they were married in New Orleans and were divorced shortly after their marriage in 1975. Luke and Nancy Jane had one daughter Amanda Lee Saucier who was born in New Orleans. On March 2, 1983 in Santa Rosa, Florida, Luke at age forty-eight married his fifth and last wife, forty-three year old Joann Velcich, who was born on October 17, 1940 in Florida.
Marie Florence Saucier, the third child and second daughter of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley was born on January 8, 1936, in New Orleans and died in New Orleans at age three on March 14, 1939. Three-year-old Marie Florence died tragically as the result of burns when she accidently set her clothing afire with a match she found in the kitchen of her home. She was buried in New Orleans. Marie Florence was the granddaughter of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great granddaughter of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, second great granddaughter of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Albert Pierre Saucier was the fourth child and second son of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley. Albert was born in New Orleans on March 24, 1938. Albert married Laurie Louise Curet in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born in New Orleans on May 6, 1938, and died there on June 23, 2012, at age seventy-four. Albert Pierre was the grandson of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, second great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Luke was a third great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. Albert and Laurie had three children Albert Pierre, Jr., Cheryl and Rick Saucier.
Marie Alberta Saucier, the fifth child and third daughter of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley was born at New Orleans on January 14, 1940. In April of 1961 twenty-one year old Marie Alberta married twenty-five-year-old Wafford Humphries Merrell, Jr of Jasper County, Mississippi at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. He was born on July 30, 1935, and died on October 29, 2010, in Jackson, Mississippi at age seventy-five. Wafford was a retired physician specializing in Urology since 1966. A graduate of Tulane Medical School, with a residency at the University of Mississippi Medical School, he was a founder of Mississippi Urology Clinic and later practiced with the Urology Care Center and he held numerous medical staff positions at St Dominic's Hospital including Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff, Executive Committee, Advisory Board, as well as the Governing Board of the Hospital. He retired from the Mississippi National Guard after 35 years of service at the rank of Lieutenant General. Wafford was the son of Wafford Merrell and Chandlee Ainsworth both of Jasper County, Mississippi. Marie Alberta was the granddaughter of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great granddaughter of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, a second great granddaughter of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. She was a third great granddaughter of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great granddaughter of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. Marie Alberta and Wafford had five children during their 50 years of marriage, Elizabeth Ann, Marie Lynette, Katheryn Ann, John Humphries and William Wafford Merrell. Wafford is buried at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi.
John Gaston Saucier, the sixth child and third son of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley was born at New Orleans on September 29, 1941, and died July 3, 2004, in Arlington, Virginia. John Gaston was the grandson of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, second great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Luke was a third great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. On November 28, 1960, in Portsmouth, Virginia he married Clara Bell Fortenberry. She was born on February 15, 1938, in Wesson, Mississippi and died on November 23, 2015, in Covington, Louisiana. Both are buried in in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Luke was a third great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. Nelson is married to Ruth Lopez who was born in the Philippines on October 7, 1957. They have two children, daughter Gabrielle Marie Saucier and son Nathaniel Pierre Saucier. They resided in the Pearl River, Louisiana area.

In about 1924 Louis married Lottie. I. Moss who was born on January 19, 1906 in Alabama and died on January 3, 1984 in Pensacola, Florida at age seventy-seven. Lottie was the daughter of Robert Lee Moss and Annie Jane Harrison of Washington County, Alabama. Louis and Lottie had five children, Robert Louis, Carolyn Machell, John Alvin, Gilbert Raymond, and Clyde Douglas Saucier.

Louis and Omelia had twelve children, Oveal, Randolph, Alonzo, Laura, Alsead, James Alves, Beulah, Alma, Carmelia, Bertha, Verdie Mary, and Vinnie Saucier.

He married Mary Ethel Gardner who was born on July 15, 1906, and died on November 10, 1990, at Perkinston, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Joseph Ennis Gardner and Prudie Ann Mitchell. Jeverly Edward and Prudie Ann had three children, James Edward, Claris Janette, and Mary Irene Saucer.

Luke, age twenty, married Gertrude Mavor Foley, age twenty, on April 23, 1932 in Harrison County, Mississippi. Gertrude was born on September 5, 1911 New Orleans, Louisiana and died on October 25, 1981 in Jackson at age seventy. She was the daughter of Albert Sidney Foley and Gertrude Emily Mavor. Luther and Gertrude had six children, Gertrude, Luke, Jr., Marie Florence, Albert Pierre, Marie Alberta, and John Gaston Saucier during their marriage. After the death of Gertrude, Luther remarried sometime after 1943. His second wife was Francis Virginia Tidwell, age twenty-two, and who was born December 2, 1919 in Georgia and died on May 13, 1989 in Pearl River, Louisiana at the age of sixty-nine. Francis was the daughter of Homer Tidwell and Josie Hudson. Luther "Luke" and Francis had three additional children during their marriage, Nelson Talmadge, Douglas Gaston, and Francis Joseph Saucier.

On January 25, 1953, age nineteen years, Gertrude married twenty-one year old Herbert Paul Schall at New Orleans. Herbert was born on August 15, 1931 in New York City, the son of German immigrants, Joseph and Hedwig Schall. He died on January 6, 2020 in Holden, Missouri at age eighty-eight and is buried in Kansas City, Missouri along side Gertrude and his second wife Esther Gordon, whom he married in 1973. Gertrude and Herbert had four children, David G., Stephen D., Marie Louise and Sarah Elaine Schall during their marriage.
Luther “Luke” Vardaman Saucier, Jr., called Luke, was the second born child and first born son of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley. He was born on October 4, 1934 in Louisiana and died on October 2, 2008 in Florida at age seventy-nine. Luke was the grandson of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, second great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Luke was a third great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. In the 1950’s Luke worked for the Reptile Jungle near Pearl River, Louisiana where he wrestled alligators and worked with snakes at the road side attraction for a number of years. His profession was to get the attention of several Hollywood movie companies. His big breakthrough in the movie industry was as an alligator wrestler and then as the official reptile handler for MGM, Paramount and Warner Brothers Studios. He made headlines in 1956 when he was bitten by a rattler during a show in California. Eventually he landed bit parts in the movies and television, including a bit part in 1964’s “My Fair Lady” at Warner’s. He appeared in a number of TV shows including the westerns "Gun Smoke" with James Arness, “Yancy Derringer” with Jock Mahoney, “The Rifleman”, and “Branded” both with Chuck Connors and worked as Chuck Connor’s double on the TV series and in the movie “Swamp Women” and others. Luke also worked on the TV series “Dukes of Hazard”. In 1955, Luke then 21 years old married the first of his five wives, Mary Jane Wilson in New Orleans and they divorced soon afterward. Following his divorce he married his second wife Joyce Jiles, she was born on December 26, 1939 in San Diego, California. They married in New Orleans on December 21, 1956 when she was sixteen years old and Luke was twenty-two, they divorced the following year. Luke’s third wife was stage actress Elizabeth “Betty” Lee Mitchell of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi whom he married in about 1958. Luke would have been about twenty-four and Betty thirty-one years old when they married. She was the daughter of Robert Mitchell and Anna Palanque, residents of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Betty was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi on December 18, 1927 and died on March 11, 2003 in Wilmington, North Carolina at age seventy-five. Luke and Betty were divorced in 1974. They had three sons, Luke V. Saucier, III, Eric Saucier and Matthew Jason Saucier who followed in his father’s footsteps and became an actor who appears in film and television as Jason Saucier. Shortly after his divorce in 1974, at age forty Luke married Nancy Jane Hare, she was born on March 9, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, and she died on September 8, 1998 in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica. She was his fourth wife, they were married in New Orleans and were divorced shortly after their marriage in 1975. Luke and Nancy Jane had one daughter Amanda Lee Saucier who was born in New Orleans. On March 2, 1983 in Santa Rosa, Florida, Luke at age forty-eight married his fifth and last wife, forty-three year old Joann Velcich, who was born on October 17, 1940 in Florida.
Marie Florence Saucier, the third child and second daughter of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley was born on January 8, 1936, in New Orleans and died in New Orleans at age three on March 14, 1939. Three-year-old Marie Florence died tragically as the result of burns when she accidently set her clothing afire with a match she found in the kitchen of her home. She was buried in New Orleans. Albert Pierre Saucier was the fourth child and second son of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley. Albert was born in New Orleans on March 24, 1938. Albert married Laurie Louise Curet in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born in New Orleans on May 6, 1938, and died there on June 23, 2012, at age seventy-four. Albert Pierre was the grandson of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great grandson of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, second great grandson of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. Luke was a third great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. Albert and Laurie had three children Albert Pierre, Jr., Cheryl and Rick Saucier.
Marie Alberta Saucier, the fifth child and third daughter of Luther (Luke) Vardaman Saucier and Gertrude Mavor Foley was born at New Orleans on January 14, 1940. In April of 1961 twenty-one year old Marie Alberta married twenty-five-year-old Wafford Humphries Merrell, Jr of Jasper County, Mississippi at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. He was born on July 30, 1935, and died on October 29, 2010, in Jackson, Mississippi at age seventy-five. Wafford was a retired physician specializing in Urology since 1966. A graduate of Tulane Medical School, with a residency at the University of Mississippi Medical School, he was a founder of Mississippi Urology Clinic and later practiced with the Urology Care Center and he held numerous medical staff positions at St Dominic's Hospital including Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff, Executive Committee, Advisory Board, as well as the Governing Board of the Hospital. He retired from the Mississippi National Guard after 35 years of service at the rank of Lieutenant General. Wafford was the son of Wafford Merrell and Chandlee Ainsworth both of Jasper County, Mississippi. Marie Alberta was the granddaughter of Pierre Saucier and Florence Ladner, great granddaughter of Pierre "Pier" Saucier and his second wife Elizabeth Perkins, a second great granddaughter of Pierre Phillip Saucier and Isabelle Nicaise of Saucier, Mississippi. She was a third great granddaughter of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great granddaughter of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great granddaughter of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. Marie Alberta and Wafford had five children during their 50 years of marriage, Elizabeth Ann, Marie Lynette, Katheryn Ann, John Humphries and William Wafford Merrell. Wafford is buried at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi.

Luke was a third great grandson of Philippe Saucier and Ursula Grelot, fourth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Pelagie Tixerand, fifth great grandson of Henri Saucier and Barbe LaCroix, and the sixth great grandson of Jean Baptiste Saucier and Gabrielle Savary of Colonial Mobile. On November 28, 1960, in Portsmouth, Virginia he married Clara Bell Fortenberry. She was born on February 15, 1938, in Wesson, Mississippi and died on November 23, 2015, in Covington, Louisiana. Both are buried in in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
